Belt sandals are things that mark the territory with complete comfort – your comfort. For the feet, they send the message that you either have to love them or leave them. In Japan, the belt sandals are always a statement of love with comfort, although there have been some who have bought the cork sole platform heels to turn the comfort into a nice walk. What’s unique and appealing to the western eye is the use of color and belt materials on the shoe, which might remind someone of a seat belt or straps from a ride if it isn’t synthetic or cowhide leather. However obvious belt sandals may look out in the public, they are an item that can be worn multiple times in combination with other fashions. It’s great to use when you’re not interested in thinking about the bottom or are into showing off bigger feet, as the belt sandals will give worked feet a beautiful display. We’ve seen them used with both jean skirts, shirt blouses, simple black and wide pants. Some may find these type of shoes unattractive, but the simplicity when used with the other parts of the outfit allows the attention to be taken off of one thing and onto other aspects of the outfit, plus it reveals the belt material as a culture element that sometimes has socks and fur included. Belt sandals are a look into East Asian comfort levels, and when it comes to complete outfits, the straps are the final destination for the wearer 100% of the time. Belt and sole sandals should make the wearer cozy right down to the bottom of their feet, because by wearing them it shows that busy is the last place you want to go – this time, your toes aren’t meant for a busy street but for marine, park sides, and closeted halls or rooms.
